Birjand Akbarieh Garden

A Persian Garden

Akbarieh House and Garden one of the historical buildings in Birjand, dates back to Qajar era. It is a great examples of Persian gardens with 3 characteristics: The presence of water element in the form of stream in the center of the garden, a mansion in the middle and high walls around the garden. This monument includes a mirror hall, pergola dome, honeycomb mogharnas decorations and official scheme that were merely for catering domestic and foreign political agents. It includes several museums, art galleries, and gift shops. The garden was registered as a world heritage monument in the thirty fifth UNESCO Conference in 2011.

Birjand Castle

Great Historical Castle, Beautiful at Night

Birjand Castle one of the tourist attractions in Birjand is the largest and oldest historical monument in Birjand. It covers an area of 3000 square meters and was built in Safavid era. It is a very beautiful castle specially at night with amazing view of the city. You can go upstairs for watching city lights. Tabas Morteza Ali Fountain

Imagine putting your feet in a small river, and while they are in a stream of water, cool water will hit your right foot and warm water your left foot! Here is Morteza Ali Fountain, one of the tourist attractions in Tabas; a miracle in the heart of the strangest desert in Iran. The most important feature of Morteza Ali Fountain is that both hot and cold water are flowing here in the same stream. So that in one side hot water is flowing and on the other side cold water. The Citadel of Furg, or Arg-e-Furg, one of the tourist attractions in South-Khorasan, is an 18th century citadel located in Furg Village in Darmian County, South Khorasan, Iran. It has a good strategic situation, because it has a commanding view of the entire village, farms and roads around its eastern region. in the architecture of the castle from the east to the west, three major parts are recognizable.

The first part on the east includes a barn, living place of crew, place of keeping cattle and dock warehouse. The second part of the castle, which is in the center of the castle, is located at a higher altitude, at a distance of 50 meters from the place of food and military supplies and place of residing soldiers. The third part which has the centrality state of the castle has been built in the highest part of the castle on two floors overlooking the entire village and the roads the area.

Nehbandan is a city of South Khorasan. South Khorasan district is where 120-day winds of Sistan blow, so it is one of the best places to use the energy of wind. Windmill is a good example of human's adaptation to its environmental conditions and taking advantages of it. The Nehbandan Windmill is one of the tourist attractions in South-Khorasan. The 120-day wind or wind of 120 days is a strong summer wind occurring from late May to late September in the east and southeast of the Iranian Plateau, particularly the Sistan Basin. It is so called because it lasts for four months.

Farsan Stone Bridge

Farsan stone bridge one of the tourist attractions in South-Khorasan is located twelve kilometers northwest of Ghaenat city in South Khorasan. This natural bridge with 30-meter of length and 20-meter height alongside several other small and large caves is the shelter of birds of prey, especially wild dove. Farsan cave is a cave from the Mesolithic age. This cave has ancient layers that broken potteries are scattered around it. These earthenware date back to the Seljuk era and before Islam era. It shows that people from the stone age inhabited the cave.
